Still working forward in my blogs... catching up... only a couple weeks behind...

The weekend of June 13, 14, 15.
I had to go home (Kennewick) over the weekend because one of my best friends from High School died unexpectedly. I went to the memorial service in Kennewick. I love Barry and will miss him. Everyone please pray for Barb and the kids during this difficult time.

I have very little time before I have to leave so this blog post will be very short.

More catching up.

OK. I finally got internet again and some time...

I have not been able to update my blog for a while. I swear that this time I really did try. I haven't had internet access. Because I will probably never catch up on my blog posts I will try to do a whurl wind posting bananza tonight to get me mostly caught up.

Note: For the two weeks I was on night shift I really didn't get very many pictures. It was dark. We walk till morning however so the few pictures I have are usually from morning or later in the day when we zombies are not sleeping.

June 4th - Wednesday
Here is Bess and Liz cookin dinner... the RV was moving. This was a little on the crazy side. Bess held the pan so it didn't fall. We try not to cook in motion anymore.

June 5th - Thursday
After walking all night Liz and I faced the possibility of having to skip a section of highway because of construction. We were unwilling to accept this passibility and we decided to follow some "side roads" which turned out to be gravel roads and even an ATV (4 wheeler) trail. We then had to scale a minor mountain (giant rock hill) to get back to the interstate. All so we can say that we did not skip a step. Yeee haaa.

Here is a bridge we encountered.

Here is the giant hill we climbed to get back to the interstate. If you look at the top of the second picture you can see the street sign at the top of the hill on I-90. I don't think the picture does the hill justice. It was steep and big. I have a video but haven't yet figured out how to post video to the blog. Perhaps in the future I will share the video of Liz climbing the rock hill...

And here is a view looking down the fill from the interstate above.

June 7th - Saturday
Here is a little parish that Nicole and I visited Saturday night for mass. It was very small.

Here is the crew hanging out in a host parish in Helena, MT cooking dinner.

June 8th - Sunday
A few of our people decided to join the headband club.
Bess is rocking the headband here...

And here we have Liz and Joe rockin the headbands.

June 9th - Monday (still on night crew)
Here's a picture of Joe rockin the guitar.

Lest you think we are not doing any actuall walking in these weeks here is one of my night shots. Joe and Erin are admiring each other's reflective vests. Joe is sporting the reflective Pro-Life vest.

I think I supprised Erin in this shot.

Then we make it to dawn. Here is a shot of Bess. You can see the dawn but it is still dark enough that we are sporting our reflective vests.

Here are a couple more a little later. Finally there is a picture of me. That is the only sad thing about being the one with the camera. I am in very few of my pictures.

June 10th - Tuesday (still on night shift)
A shot of Bess.

When we aren't walking in the dark or driving we are usually trying to sleep for little stints in the Van. Here are Nicole and Erin sleeping in the van between walks in the middle of the night on the shoulder of the road....

Later that day Erin plays the guitar.

Eating in the RV is fun!

OK.
This post took a long time to compose. I am much more caught up. This gets me pretty well through my second and third weeks (both on night shift). I am still a little behind but it is 12:30 AM and I have to get up and drive to church in the morning. Time for me to sleep. I will try to post more and get a little closer to caught up whenever I can. Who knows when that will be.

Good night and may God bless you all.

I know, I know, I need to keep up on my blog...

I started blogging and then stopped. I should probably let folks know why. I went to night shift and became one of the walking pro-life zombies of the night. Lack of sleep and frequent RV parks with spotty WiFi lead to me not posting. All I managed was a June 3rd post that said, "I'm tired..."

Well excuses are over. I am back on day shift. Two weeks of zombie land and I'm back among the living. Hurray!

Here are some pictures for your consideration...

Here is us camping in the mountains... (from the first week)

Here is Bess walking in Eastern Washington (still the first week).

Here are Erin and Joe showing off.... in Eastern Washington....

At the end of our first week we headed into Spokane and stayed at our first host family. They were wonderful. Here is a picture of us hanging out in the backyard resting our weary legs and eating lunch.

Here we have the newly minted Reverend Mr. Kevin Oiland grilling up some burgers for us hungry kids the next day. Weekends are great, a break from walking, great food, and great people.

Here is our dear friend Curt Siedel posing with a crazy fur hat.

And just to keep things fair here am I wearing the same crazy had and also buried in my own private pillow fort.

I have pictures of others with the crazy fur hat and also a "harry potter" cloak and hat but for now I will leave it at that. It takes a while to upload all these pictures....

And... here is my first picture from night shift.... (this is where I enter into the zombie night, the second week...)

Here is what we look like on the night shift. We zombies have to bundle up because it is cold and raining and zombies don't like rain. We also wear stylish reflective vests in order to not be run over by cars. The reflective vests also warn off the living who might disturb our zombie wanderings.

Here are all the people together both Day Shift (the living) and Night Shift (the zombies). We meet each morning for Mass before the day shift starts walking the the night shift hides from the day star (the sun).

That gets us into the beginning of the second week. We are currently in the beginning of the fourth week so obviously I am still behind on posting but at least I got a little bit of catching up done. It is currently after midnight and as a day shift walker I need to be sleeping soon or I may turn into a zombie.

Good Night all.
May God bless you all.
May God send his angels to watch over you and keep you safe.

I am tired.

I'm not sure when this blogging thing is going to happen but I am super tired.
We made it over the Idaho border at the end of night shift. I am currently in Idaho and tired.
Tired.
