July 7th - Monday

I'm on night shift again. The end of my shift usually happens just after dawn. Here it is...

We stopped in a little German town. It was great. I even found Kuchen (koo-gen) which is something my aunt makes on occasion (being as we have German ancestry).

I found a camp site and it turned out to have beautiful water falls near by. I should be sleeping but since it is mostly darkness on night shift we often stay up during the day to enjoy what we find. I found water falls...
July 6th - Sunday

Bess fulfilled a life long dream to go to a starbucks...? I don't claim to understand it but... Here you go...

We also practiced walking for a news woman who came to interview us at our host families house. Were we are all lined up and ready to walk in unison.
July 4th - Friday

So we did a little walking on the 4th of July before we cut down to Iowa to join a group of people for a BBQ and later to see the fireworks.

We drove out to our starting location only to discover that Liz was the first of us to forget her shoes. We made it half the summer without incident and we were faced with a challenge. We thought that walking in her flip flops would give her a blister between her toes so she opted for this solution... She cut off the strap and duck taped the flip flop sole to her foot.

Liz made it a few miles with the duck tape but it came off and she walked several miles barefoot. She is a super walking machine!

That night...

OK. Well I actually made it into D.C. last week and am now hanging out in Scranton, PA with my Bro and his family. I am obviously way way behind on my blog but I do plan on finishing so everyone can see what happened to me along the way...

More posting...

July 3rd - Thursday

At last we finished South Dakota and walked into Minnesota.

Windmills!

Here are a few pictures of the windmills to give you a sense of their immense size. The first is a picture of a windmill with Liz standing at the base. She can hardly be seen. If you click on the picture and see the full size image and zoom in you can see here standing at the base. The second image is an image of a fin from one of the windmills on the ground next to a semi truck. The fin is much larger than the semi truck.

So walking along the way, now in the state of 10,000 lakes Liz and I discovered a lake of algae. This is the greenest lake I have ever seen. It looked like a lake of Nickelodeon green slime.

Here is the sunset
I am so far behind. I will try...

July 2nd - Wednesday

So... walking again. As we were walking Bess and I walked past this monument to the unborn victims of abortion along the highway.

Later that same day Bess made another interesting discovery along the highway, a series of signs...

OK. So I haven't updated my blog in a long time. This is because I haven't had internet in weeks. I have also hardly had enough time to shower so I really haven't been able to update it. This weekend however I have had time for the first... time. I will update it this weekend.... I swear... after I've had a few days of sitting around and doing nothing.... Aaaah. Feels so good...
